Kiwanis is an international organization of men and women committed to making their community a better place to live. Kiwanis is a service club – not a lodge, commercial club, or secret organization. One’s time in Kiwanis is spent in service to the community, while enjoying good fellowship with Kiwanis friends. Men and women in Kiwanis may be business owners, professionals, retired, employees, students, etc. – from any walk of life.
Kiwanians achieve together what an individual cannot accomplish. Kiwanis affords an opportunity to make a difference in the community. Club meetings offer fun, learning, and fellowship, a welcome change to the daily routine. In addition to attending meetings, Kiwanians volunteer time, as they see fit, to community service activities. If you enjoy your community, if you enjoy doing things for people in your community, you should be a member of the Tualatin Kiwanis Club.
Annual dues are $110 (which are pro-rated when joining and may be paid semi-annually or annually). Dues include membership in Kiwanis International, and the Pacific Northwest Kiwanis District; insurance coverage; subscription to the Kiwanis magazine; and the, right to attend all Kiwanis sponsored functions.
You get out of Kiwanis what you put in. We understand that your time is valuable. Some of our members are in a position to give many hours, while others are only able to help on service projects or fundraising events. We encourage people who join to attend meetings and activities as best as they are able. Just keep in mind that every moment you offer to our community will make it a better place for all.
Key Clubs:
We sponsor three High School Key Clubs – Clubs that promote community service and leadership for students at three local high schools (Tualatin, Lakeridge, & West Linn). These are student led clubs that create their own community service projects. We provide members to be their advisors.
Mt Hood Kiwanis Camp: Summer camp for children and adults with special needs. Make wooden name tags for each of the campers. Put on an annual Pancake Breakfast to benefit the camp. Assist with their annual auction. Provide auction items for the auction. Participate in their Walk, Roll, or Stroll event.
